Arrangement Notes

From the Broadway musical version of Anastasia, this song is performed by the character Anya, who is suffering from amnesia but is optimistic that someday her life story will come back to her. When she was a little girl, her grandmother gave her a music box as a gift, and now her traveling companion Dmitry shows her a music box that happens to be the one that was given to her years ago. In this song, she vaguely remembers an imperial ball she attended. The beautiful waltz-like tune is in a minor key, which symbolizes the sadness of Anya and the yearning to find out who she really is.
