Finding myself lost in the sea of family tragedies, music has preserved me. Music opened my heart through the droughts of life. Complex over laid patterns of sound tuned my nervous system to the speed of this precious life. Harmonious, gratitude enriched connections carried me when my thoughts were too heavy. Practice teaches me to train my own wild animal. “Sit. Stay. Persist.” I dream of a culture where we sing together again as people have since time immemorial. Meters pulling us together, notes urging us forward, harmonies welling up within us. Cycles timed concordantly with each growing synergy in the water from our hearts. One lifting another, and in time being lifted oneself. Reaching for new stars and home planets, growing gardens here, and far away. Moving us together, to grow families, communities, nations.
