Reviews
Displaying all reviews (1)The melody is traditional; the one I remember hearing on various recordings and in at least one choral arrangement I remember doing awhile back (dont remember which one, it was very long ago). The piano arrangement is simple (if you have had piano lessons for several months at least), but captures the lively "Spanish" flavor and rhythm of the song that comes from the Sephardic Jews (originally from Spain and Portugal) and spoke Ladino. There are NO English lyrics. The song basically says: "Beautiful Hanukah is here, eight candles for me" and then counts down the number of candles. Chord names (but not chart symbols) are included above the words which makes it suitable for guitarists.
